About This Course

PowerPoint is Microsoft’s powerful and easy-to-use presentation program. This version of PowerPoint incorporates some new features and connectivity options in an effort to make collaboration and production as easy as possible. This course is intended to help all novice computer users get up to speed with PowerPoint quickly. We will cover different features of the interface; show users how to create, save, and present a basic presentation and we will discuss the basics of formatting features.

By the end of this course, users should be comfortable with creating a new presentation, making their presentation look professional and presentable, and saving and presenting their slide show.

Module 1: Getting Started with PowerPoint

Microsoft Office PowerPoint is a powerful and easy-to-use presentation application. In this topic, we will introduce you to the PowerPoint environment.

Module 2: Developing a PowerPoint Presentation

Module 1: Work with images, drawings and objects in MS PowerPoint

In this lesson, the learner will learn how to work with images, drawings and SmartArt. SmartArt is Microsoft’s intelligent way of creating diagrams.

Module 2: Customise master slides in a presentation

A slide master is the top slide in a hierarchy of slides that stores information about the theme and slide layouts of a presentation, including the background, colour, fonts, effects, placeholder sizes, and positioning. Every presentation contains at least one slide master.

Module 3: Modifying Objects in your

Presentation In this lesson, we will learn how to modify objects. Many of these techniques work for shapes and text boxes, too. We will start by learning how to select, edit, resize, compress, change, and reset images.

Module 4: Adding Tables to your Presentation

Module 2: Customizing Design Templates

After completing this module, the learner will be able to create and use templates in a GUI based presentation application.

Module 3: Manipulating graphical elements and drawn objects

After completing this module, the learner will be able to manipulate graphics/images and drawn objects. It is a well-known fact that people remember facts better when they are associated with pictures or objects. It is therefore wise to bring visual objects into your presentations, but make sure that they are applicable to the content and the message that you want to bring across.
